LG Gram 17 - Thin and Light Laptop - 17" (2560 x 1600) IPS Display, Intel 8th Gen Core i7

Review

If you feel that a 17inch laptop is big, bulky, and heavy that is quite large to lug around then you are wrong. This 17-inch laptop is thin, light, and slim. Its very simple and classic look makes it extremely easy to carry. It seems that LG hit the first-ball sixer with the programmers.

LG Gram 17 is housed with a 1.8GHz Intel Core i7-8565U processor that is capable of showcasing a decent performance. The processor may look outdated but remain assured this device is powerful enough to let you open 20 tabs at a time with four YouTube videos streaming at 1080p. There would be no stuttering or interruption. Plus, the 16GB of memory helps quite a bit in making this laptop faster.

However, with Intel UHD Graphics 620, you cannot play heavy games. It delivers very slow frame rates as well as you will feel there is a lot of stuttering during fast-paced games. It is good enough to play slow games but to play AAA games; you would definitely need a high power GPU.

Now it’s time to talk about design. The LG Gram 17 has a weight of only 2.95 lb which is pretty amazing for a 17-inch machine. It is truly an unbelievable feature. The frame is made of a particular metal alloy using Nano carbon and magnesium. Even though the laptop has a bog display, it is extremely portable. Moreover, the display has the capacity to endure shock and vibration. From the looks point of view, it seems as if the LG is inspired by MacBook, they certainly have design features in common. However, the bezels are quick thick which a few people might not like.

The 17-inch display looks very lovely. The colors on LG Gram 17 are vivid, bright, and vibrant due to a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. Moreover, brightness is also something to cherish about. Your eyes won’t get stored even if you use for many hours

As per LG claims, the laptop boasts up to 19.5 hours of battery life, which would be something quite amazing. Unfortunately, as per our testing, when you do multitasking and run programs for many hours continuously, the battery only lasts for 11 hours which is  9 hours short of the company’s claim. However, this is definitely a win for programmers who use the device for many hours.

Pros
  • excellent everyday performance
  • great battery life
  • nice 17-inch display
  • Lightweight
Cons
  • Diminishing Graphics and SSD

3)The Dell XPS 13 9300 –  InfinityEdge Touchscreen Laptop (Silver), Intel Core i7-1065G7 10th Gen

The Dell XPS 13 9300 - InfinityEdge Touchscreen Laptop (Silver), Intel Core i7-1065G7 10th Gen

Review

This laptop comes from the renowned tech giant Dell. The Dell XPS 13 9300 is a fine choice for every programmer out there who is etching for something special. Due to its amazing performance, excellent portability, and high power specs, it is considered as one of the best laptops for programmers.

The Dell XPS 13 9300 is a complete overhaul from the 2019 model. It has a slightly bigger display which is minutely more compact than the 2019 design. The redesigned chassis also look fantastic. The shape boasts a futuristic design that is made from CNC-milled aluminum. The laptop has ultra-thin bezels and a striking look.

The Dell XPS 13 this time has ignored Intel’s “Comet Lake” processors for the  “Ice Lake” CPUs. Remember that both are parts of the latest 10th generation processors, However, the Ice Lake ones are a much better choice as far as thin and light laptops are concerned because they have slightly lower clock speeds, power consumption, and also heat generation.

The laptop is supported by the Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor, and a four-core chip with Hyper-Threading that works at 1.3GHz. Moreover, the processor comes with integrated Intel Iris Plus graphics. The laptop also has 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD storage. These specs are enough for making this laptop faster and better than many other premium laptops in the market. These features run many apps together without any intrusion or system failure.

What’s really interesting is that Dell during its redesigning decided to take care of ergonomics. Therefore, the laptop’s small size and 13-inch display won’t be much of an issue for your eyes. Moreover,, its Corning Gorilla 4 glass and very thin bezels with anti-reflective coating allow you to use the laptop for many hours.

The Dell XPS 13 isn’t really a gaming laptop. There is a lot of stuttering and interruption during high fast games. However, you can play demanding games by toning down the graphic quality settings.

The XPS 13’s battery power is great, as it can last for 17 hours on a single go even if you open multiple tabs at once. When we lessoned 50 percent screen brightness with airplane mode turned on, Battery life remarkably improved.

Coders will find this screen easy to use as it is accurate and not too stressful on the eyes. The brightness is also good with 408 nits. You can easily use it in broad daylight.

From the design point of view, Microsoft decided to use the same old formula but with some tweaks. It provides you with three models–laptop, studio, and tablet form along with a kickstand that can be extended up to over 160 degrees. Moreover, its black exterior and the texture make the laptop look robust and sturdy. However, there are thick bezels around the display that might because of concern for a few. The Huawei Matebook 13 is another class blast from Huawei. It offers great performance, better specs, and a lovely feel at a very less price tag than most of the laptops. The stylish 13-inch device is one of the coolest laptops in the market. Its decent battery life, easy configuration, and high-performance loudspeakers are what make it our top pick.

The processor performance enhances when it is coupled with Intel HD Graphics 620 GPU. These specifications provide the programmer with a better knowledge to carry out their coding in a better way.

The Matebook 13 looks exactly similar to Matebook Pro. However, the former is a little bit smaller than later. It is filled with an aluminum body and a powerful chassis. As far as the display is concerned, the Huawei Matebook features a 13-inch touchscreen that offers its fans a great Full View 2k experience at a resolution of 2160×1440 pixels. The screen still offers the mentioned resolution at 100% of the sRGB color gamut.

It has a 3:2 aspect ratio that allows you to use more content vertically. But, the bezels on the display are quite large and thick which again is a negative point for the programmers who tend to use the laptop for many hours.

The Matebook 13 is a lightweight device that only weighs 2.86 pounds. Therefore, it is always ready to use on the go. With its easy dimensions and slim body, the device can easily settle on the tray table in a train. This is a great portability for frequent traveling programmers.

Therefore, we suggest you go for a laptop that has a minimum resolution of 1920 x 1080 (1080p) Full HD display.

Buying a laptop with a 1366 x 768 resolution to save the budget is not a good choice for a programming student. On the other hand, a 4k display is just too much. Just make sure that your laptop has good viewing angles and a good color combination.

Processor and its Power

Your processor decides the performance of your Laptop. There are many types of processors with each having its own capacity and power. Just make sure that your processor is of Intel Core i5 or i7 CPU with a frequency of at least 3Hz. This should enough for any programming student.

Battery Life

Battery life does not matter a lot if you charge your laptop all the time. However, if you type of block that’s a little bit lazy to charge the device again and again, then you should probably look for a device that has at least a 6-hour battery life. We suggest you not buy into the claims of the manufacturer.  Try checking out the appraisals from real users.

Storage and Capacity

Try using SSD (Solid State Drive). it will significantly improve the performance of the laptop than any other standard Hard Drive. A 256GB SSD should be the least in your laptop. And, if you have the financial means go for 512 GB SSD or better.

Memory

Your device should have at least 4GB of RAM because without it programming would be almost impossible. We recommend 8GB of RAM for any programming student because it would work perfectly fine for compiling codes.

Operating System

Whether you want a Mac, Windows, or Chrome OS, it is totally up to you. But, for programming students, it is preferable that the student should choose a type that he is most familiar with. If the student is comfortable with windows then he should always go for windows. Similar is the case with other operating systems

What to look for when buying a laptop for AutoCAD?

When you are into buying a laptop for your professional AutoCad work needs, there are a few aspects that must look into. For high-end tasks, it is imperative to buy a laptop that not only fulfills the minimum criterion but offers a smooth run of those apps. In the coming section, we will be discussing those features.

Processor:

For high-ended tasks such as running AutoCad and rendering 3d projects, it is important to have a special look into the processor. Look for a multi-core multi-thread processor that offers good clock speed in a turbo boost.

For AutoCAD and 3d modeling, we would like to recommend having a hands-on Intel core i5 processor at least. Do not get settled lower than this or you will struggle in running the application. The 8th or 9th generation processor with core i5 is good to go. For professionals, opting less than i7 would be near to crime, as they would not be able to run multiple operations or projects at one time.

RAM:

RAM is also one of the core important aspects when it is about buying a laptop for AutoCAD. For a smooth run of the mentioned software and other 3d modeling apps, it is essential to have a good memory size, as much as 16GB.

For a beginner or an AutoCad student, it is good to have an 8GB but for a professional, less than 16GB is never recommended.

Storage:

Storage makes you enjoy a smooth performance. Especially if you have SSD storage. Laptops these days are coming with SSDs; HDDs have gone obsolete now. So, do not settle with a 2TB mechanical driver rather opt with a 500GB SSD storage. With SSD storage you will have a faster loading time. You get a blazing fast boot-up time and overall system speed goes over the roof.

Graphics card:

AutoCAD is a 2D/3D modeling application. It requires a decent graphics card to get a smooth run. It is good to bear in mind buying discrete graphics for video editing, image editing, playing the latest titles, and modeling and designing.

For AutoCAD running as professionals do, it is imperative to have a GTX 1650 graphics card with 4GB dedicated space.

Screen Size and display:

The display is one of the most important attributes to pay special focus into. For tasks such as 3D modeling and rendering it is also recommended to have a high-quality FHD display. Because, tasks such as video editing, and image editing require bright and detailed viewing. As long as the size is concerned, it is your personal preference.

For someone looking for a desktop replacement laptop, he/she must love a bigger screen. For the users who love to travel with a laptop, smaller screens are preferred. It is up to you, what makes you comfortable.

What makes a laptop stands out for web designing?

These are some attributes you must look into before buying a laptop for website designing and development.

Ram

Programmers and developers work is mostly related to coding. They have to handle codes a lot, which is text so I do not think you require too much memory size to handle text files. But still, this must not be the only use you would be using a laptop for.

So as per my recommendation, I would like to suggest 8GB at least for programming and website designing and development.

Processor

The processor is one of the core features that you look for when buying a new laptop. As long as website designing and development is concerned I do not think you should invest too much into buying a high-end processor. As low as the i3 processor runs as high as the i9 processor can get the job done well. As long as programming is concerned, it is good to falls in between both ends. I would like to suggest an i5 processor with 8th and 9th generation

Graphics card

If you are into playing gaming are you work is related to 3D modeling, designing architecture projects, mechanical engineering projects, or anything related to 3D then you should look into a dedicated graphics card before buying a laptop. Otherwise, I do not think a programmer developer would require to have a graphics card to get his computing chores going smoothly.

Battery life

Most often programmers’ website developers and designers work from their home desk or offices. It is rare to see a program and developer doing programming and coding on the go or in traveling. So battery life is important when you travel a lot or you have to use a laptop for a more remote location. In our case, we are looking for website designing and developing laptops. Battery life is important if you are a student who needs to attend classes besides working on designing and development projects and it’s good to have a good battery life a laptop

What to look at when buying a laptop for teachers?

Teachers have to do lots of research work to make the students learn better. So there are lots of things that come into play when it comes to buying a laptop for the teacher. In the coming section, we will be discussing those features. I am pretty sure that by reading through this section you will be able to learn the very best basics of a teacher laptop and will be able to decide what makes a laptop stands out for teachers.

Portability

Teachers have to carry the laptop all the long, it is very much important the laptop should be portable enough to be carried around. It should not be cumbersome to carry from one class to another class so if you will be using your laptop all day long then this is the most important criterion to look into and buy a laptop which is easy to carry and you could take that an entire day long with you.

Processor

For a teacher, I would like to recommend core i3 or core i5 processor. These are basic processes that are used in basic laptops for home computing. They are not that powerful and for the job, in hand, we do not require that much powerful processor. I am not going to recommend you go i7 processor because that is very powerful for what we are using them for.

Another thing that the i7 processor will be consuming too much battery and can add up lots of weight that would be not ideal for the teachers. More than that, the Core i7 processor is most likely used for heavy tasks such as video editing photo editing 3D designs, and much more in the row. As per my recommendation i5 processor with 8th and 9th generation processor, you can have hands-on 10 generations that would be more than good.

RAM

For a laptop for teachers the minimum RAM size I would like to recommend 8 GB. I’m not recommending 4GB because 4GB is very less for the task in hand more than that; 2 GB is consumed by the windows operations and applications. So it is less then what we need I would like to say that a GB is more than enough it will help you to open as many programs in the application as we like and multi-task to multiple operations in one time without getting froze.

Display

As long as the display is concerned I would like to recommend 15 inches display. It is not just about the size of the screen it is also about the other features the display comes integrated with such as anti-glare panels wider and larger viewing angles and resolutions.

Without good pixel resolutions, you would not be able to see and behold the screen well you may miss out on important information produced and rendered by the display so it is good to have at an FHD display with an IPS screen and the other specification adjusted mentioned.

Battery life

Teachers would be using the laptop all the longer they will be taking that computer from one room to the other room from one class to the other class and they will be using the machine, not just showpiece. So it is ideal that if a laptop has a good battery backup it will last longer and help the teacher get their processing and regular teaching chores done without any big issue. So look for a good battery backup it will not cost much to house a good battery on a laptop.

2.Best Laptops Under 1000 for Nursing Students: Microsoft Surface Pro 7

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 - 12.3" Touch-Screen - 10th Gen Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 256GB SSD is one of Best Laptops for Nursing Students with USB-C Finnaly.

Review

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 may well be the best thing for a nursing student. This 2-in-1 device comes in with high power 10th Gen Performance and a much-needed USB-C port. It has more resolution than Microsoft’s previous models at the same price tag. Plus, it is a lightning-fast laptop and ultra-thin as well.

The Surface Pro 7’s explicit display, additional power, and amazing Keyboard make it one of the best laptops around. You can actually write on it as if it is paper using its touch screen option.

The latest model of this laptop comes in with a fast Intel Core i5 10th Gen processor (CPU), 8GB of memory (RAM), and a 256GB solid-state drive (SSD), with the latter points upgradeable to as much as 16GB and 1TB capacity. But, let us inform you that for a nursing student the lowest configuration is enough. If you have core i5 with low-size SSD storage and 4 GB of RAM, it would be enough for you.

There is nothing new about the design as Microsoft decided not to reinvent the wheel for the time being. The best laptops for nursing students are the kind of chunky shape laptop that could turn into a tablet thanks to its rear-facing standard optional type cover keyboard.

The Surface Pro allows you to transform this laptop into an ultimate digital notebook that could easily replace your pen, paper, and prints. This is much-needed for the students who do not like to write a lot on paper.

What’s really fascinating about this device is that it offers twice the number of pixels and high resolution on full HD mode than any other high-quality laptop. This feature is not a make or break point but it surely will provide you with better options when you open many tabs during your histology class.

When talking about ports, Microsoft has finally come up with a USB-C port. However, the overall connections ports are limited. There is a USB-A port, a headphone jack, a MicroSD card slot, and a surface connection port.

The speaker works fine for a YouTube video or a Netflix binge, but not good enough to completely immerse you in music and movies. However, if you have online lectures to attend, you better use headphones.

Performance-wise, it can handle your usual tasks without even breaking a sweat. You will not encounter any slowdown or hanging during your everyday use. Even if you open dozens of tabs  and stream many YouTube videos at 1080 px and open Google docs at one time, the performance will remain the same

Pros
  • USB-C finally
  • Solid performance
  • Excellent keyboard options
  • Excellent display
Cons
  • Low battery
  • Quiet speakers

3.Best Apple Laptops Under 1000 for Nursing School Students: MacBook Air 2017

MacBook Air 2017 - Apple 13" MacBook Air Core i5 CPU, 8GB RAM is one of Best Laptops for Nursing Students with a least expensive model

Review

If you want a laptop that runs well throughout your nursing school journey then this is the one for you. Even though it is not the latest version of MacBook Air but Amazon is selling it in a brand new condition. This version remains the least expensive of all the versions

The laptop packs an Intel Core i5-5350U processor, 8GB of RAM, a 128GB PCIe SSD, and a 1440 x 900-pixel panel. You can beef up the processor to a 2.2GHz intel core i7 and 512 GB SSD by paying almost 550$ more. However, with a Core i5-5350U processor, 8GB of RAM, a 128GB PCIe SSD, you can complete all your assignments without any trouble but if you are the type of guy who does a little bit of graphic designing and opens many tabs on a single go, these specs won’t be enough.

From the game’s point of view, you cannot play high-power games unless you set them at low quality. The reason behind it is that MacBook Air does not include any dedicated graphic cards.

Since 2011 the MacBook Air had been in a standstill position in terms of design — it had the same old shape and features up till 2016. In 2017, Apple decided to change everything. The design was reshaped and features were upgraded. The 2017 version features a retina display, touch Id, and USB-C ports. Moreover, the hardware components are better than previous models and even after three years, it is one of the fastest models of the MacBook Air series.

The design looks pretty much the same as it was in 2010. Apple is reluctant to make too many changes to shape. However, the design is perfect for nursing. The best laptops for nursing students might not be a freakily cool looking laptop but it is ultra-portable and consumes less energy. It weighs only around 3 lb and it is as thin as paper and it can easily fit into the back pocket or can be sandwiched between the books or it can be carried around in the hand like a writing book.

What we like most about this machine is that the keyboard is very comfortable and responsive. It is easily the coolest thing on this laptop. You can write all day without feeling any strain on your fingers.  Moreover, The display doesn’t look pretty expensive but its average resolution power sure gives it potent battery life.

Our verdict is that it might not be the latest version but it is still one of the best models of Macbook Air and it would easily help you consume your nursing years without buying a new one.

Pros
  • Least expensive model
  • Excellent battery
  • Spec upgrades
  • Smooth running
Cons
  • The design looks a bit outdated

4.Best Chromebook Laptops Under 600 for Nursing School Students: Asus Chromebook Flip C434TA

Asus Chromebook Flip C434TA - 14" Full HD Touchscreen 4-Way NanoEdge, Intel Core M3-8100Y Processor, 4GB RAM is one of Best Laptops for Nursing Students excellent keyboard.

Review

The Chromebook flip c434 is a budget laptop for a nursing student. ASUS is known for manufacturing some high-performance Chromebooks at an affordable price and this Chromebook flip c434 is also of that type. It is a high-quality laptop that is available at a decent price tag.

The base model we reviewed costs $559 and is equipped with an Intel Core m3-8100Y CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of eMMC storage. There is also Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 615 installed In it. This means that the processor would work just fine from the studies’ point of view. But from the gaming point of view, the best laptops for nursing students won’t support fast-moving games.

Chromebook flip c434 is a marked improvement over its previous models. This time the model has a sleek aluminum chassis and a 14-inch screen that provides a clear and bright image. It has a larger display, better battery life, and strong performance than its predecessors.

When you look at its design, it could easily be mistaken with ZenBook UltraBooks. Its matte-silver aluminum finish, chrome trim, and a screen-to-body ratio of 87% make it pretty much similar to the ZenBook Ultrabooks. On the inside, there is a silver keyboard that is extremely soft and comfortable. Also, there is a touchpad, volume, and power buttons on the deck.

There is one thing which you need to be careful about and that is you cannot allow it to drop it down on the floor. As per our experience, when it is dropped from the 2.5 feet the aluminum chassis are damaged, the touchpad buttons brake, and the screen cracks. Its other features include a decent battery life of over 8 hours, powerful speakers, and a satisfactory Webcam.

Pros
  • Excellent keyboard
  • Elegant design
  • Solid battery
  • Nice Touchpad
Cons
  • The Chrome OS’s apps are that good.

5.Best ASUS Laptops Under 1000 With GPU for Nursing School Students: ASUS ZenBook 13

ASUS ZenBook 13 - UX331UN-WS51T Ultra-Slim Laptop 13.3” FHD Touch Display, 8th Gen Intel Core i5 Processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD is one of Best Laptops for Nursing Students with an attractive design and 1080p display.

Review

ASUS ZenBook 13 is an excellent piece of hardware that comes in at an affordable price. It consistently delivers good performance for many years and also offers practical portability options. It is slimmer, compact, and powerful. Also, it contains a lot of power in its sleek tiny chassis. In short, it is a great laptop that should always be on your shortlist whenever you plan to buy a laptop.

It’s a $999 laptop with stable performance from an 8th Gen Intel Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM and an Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU. However, the Nvidia GeForce MX150 Graphic card chip here is entry-level. It contains 2GB memory, and according to Nvidia, the card can deliver up to 4x faster performance than any other integrated graphics.

ASUS has been trying to cause a challenge to the Macbook Air for many years and now, they kind of succeeded in it. This ZenBook 13 is similar to the Macbook Air but with windows installed in it and of course, it is way cheaper than the former.

From the performance point of view, it scores more than Macbook Air due to its 8th Gen processor. Both have the same amount of RAM  and an excellent state drive. In short, you can run multiple applications on these laptops without any issues.

But, when the best laptops for nursing students come to the storage device, SSD, it is not the same as MacBook Air’s SSD. Air’s SSD is almost 5 times quicker than the Zen book’s SSD. However, there is nothing to worry about as you can easily launch software and boot up the system in no time.

The weight is less than the Air’s but it is not as thin as the MacBook Air. Also, the chassis is not fully made of aluminum as it has got plastic over it in patches. Moreover, the screen display has full HD resolution but the battery life is also isn’t as good as the Airs.

Overall, the new ASUS ZenBook 13 is portable, fast, and inexpensive with decent battery life. You should consider if you are not looking to spend 1000$ on any premium laptop.

Pros
  • Attractive design
  • 1080p display
  • All-round performance
  • Great Value
Cons
  • Unusual keyboard dimensions

What’s most interesting is that it comes with a thunderbolt 13 port which means that you can connect two external ports with the device. Moreover, the design has no bezels which make it look bigger than 13 inches. However, it is shaped in such a way that it has no space for placing the webcam at the top. However, the webcam has been set at the bottom of the keyboard.

What to look at when buying a laptop for Writers and Bloggers?

As I said before, for writers and bloggers there are a few features that must be in there, otherwise, an average laptop can fill the bill. If you are still confused about the specs or features, let me tell you in detail so that you could match the mentioned specs in your upcoming purchase.

Portability:

For writers and bloggers, portability is the number one factor to look into a laptop. No one likes to carry a bulky brick around, especially writers. They have to take their laptop around and most of the time they are traveling. In all those scenarios it becomes hard to carry a bulky machine around. Plus, portable and lightweight laptop consumes less battery due to their mobile specification.

Keyboards:

Yes, the keyboard is one of the core factors that you must consider before buying a laptop. Writers mostly consume their keyboard; they use it almost every day. Their work relies on the keyboard as if they would not type, no work or writing will be done.

So, get a good keyboard that is easy to type on. It is good to grab a mechanical keyboard as they are specialized for extended typing and offer improved typing speed. But, they come at an expensive price, often in premium range laptop. Still, look for a comfortable keyboard that helps you in typing for an extended period.

RAM:

It is good to house a good size memory. As writers when doing research mostly open dozens of tabs and other multiple software or apps. For a 4GB RAM, it would not be possible to tackle the multiple operations smoothly. The lowest RAM size you can opt for is 8GB. Less than would impact your performance, more will cost high money.

Storage:

It is essential to look into this aspect. It helps you to store your files, folders, and other content permanently. More than looking for the size of storage, look for the type. SSD storage is reliable, better, and efficient in performance. They add a boost to your overall performance with increased boot-up time. But, they are expensive and cost arms and legs.

Still, SSD storages got no alternative. You cannot get by without having SSDs, so look for at least 256GB SSD in your laptop.

Battery Backup:

It is important if you are on the go writer. For frequent travelers, it is essential to get eyes on this feature. Without a good battery, the entire laptop would be useless. As you would not be using it altogether. For someone who mostly works on the desktop, it is irrelevant to look for an extended runtime for the battery.

2.macOS

The Mac book is your very ideal selection if you are planning to buy a laptop for business. The most important laptop that using macOS is MacBookPro and the Mac book Air. Currently, almost every Mac book is running exactly the macOS Catalina that includes all the features to be found on the Windows 10 OS.

3.Chrome OS

If you are looking for a laptop on a small budget, the Chromebook appears a fantastic option that has Chrome OS. This operating system is provided by Google, which brings a unique set of features. It looks the same as the Windows and features along with the application form menu.

Keyboard and TouchPad

The laptop keyboard is an important part that must consider before buying a laptop for students. The laptop keyboard is useful for writing documents. If you are looking for a laptop for watching movies or shows, hearing music, or merely internet surfing, then an excellent keyboard isn’t necessary. A good laptop keyboard comes with a decent ergonomic.

The touchpad is also important for using the laptop, so always choose a responsive touchpad laptop. Some touchpad has multitouch gestures, pinch-to-zoom capacities, smooth scrolling, plus much much more.

Processor

The processor is the heart of every laptop. If you are looking for a laptop for casual use, the i3 generation processor is a good option. It is useful for surfing, watching videos, and running software. If you are students, maybe sometimes you want to play several games; an Intel Core I 5 processor or above is the best option for playing the games with smooth graphics. The Core i-7 and i-9 processors are top-notch and offer the ideal performance; however, they are expensive.

RAM

Every processor needs the best Random Access Memory support because the RAM is the backbone of a laptop. The vast majority of budget devices include 4 GB RAM.

The laptop with just 4GB RAM maybe lags along with several other troubles. 8GB RAM is a good choice for dental school laptops. If you buy a laptop for gaming, you should go with the 16GB. Most high-end games have the minimum system requirement of 8GB RAM. The 16GB laptop is good for both gaming and multitasking.

The 32GB laptops are costly; these are best for those people who want luxury technical requirements. The vast majority of modern laptops have RAM expandable slots. This aspect lets users incorporate almost 16GB additional RAM into this device for improving performance.

Storage

Storage is another significant aspect that we need to consider before buying a laptop. The storage capacity depends on your own preferences, the type of job.

Most of the traditional laptops use the HDDs or hard drive drives with considerable storage support. If you want good performance while using the laptop, the solid-state drive is a good option.

The SSDs usually do not occupy plenty of room and help you reach much, far better-calculating rates. The HDDs are calculating bottlenecks since they cause lower rates also include restricted cache memory of 8MB to 16MB. It usually comes in a 1TB or even 500GB HDD number.

Overall, the SSDs are a good choice, but the rates are high as compared to HDDs. The storage distance changes from 32GB to 64GB and may go up to 128GB for more expensive laptops and Chromebooks.

Graphics

The type of GPU that the laptop has depends entirely upon your own collection of preferences. If you’re not interested in gaming, then a basic graphic card is enough for a laptop. Therefore, as an engineering undergraduate, you should know how to buy the best laptops that would relevant to your studies. So, here is the buying guide for you.

Price

Honestly, price plays a big role in finding the best laptop. Most of the high-power laptops do not come at a cheap price. There are many inexpensive laptops available out there in the market but they do not fulfill standard requirements. Most of the cheap laptops are neither durable nor powerful enough to run the heavy software.

So, if you have the financial means, always go for the best laptops but they do not come at a cheap price tag. However, we know that as an engineering student, you have a limited price tag. So, we suggest you buy those laptops from the above list which are cheap. Rest assured all the laptops in the above list are strong, durable and powerful.

Pick a Platform

Whether you want a Mac, Windows, or Chrome OS, it is totally up to you. But, for engineering students, it is preferable that the student should choose a type that he is most familiar with. If the student is comfortable with windows then he should always go for windows. Similar is the case with other operating systems

Performance

The random access memory (RAM), storage capability, and processor are the factors that decide the performance of the laptop. As an engineering student, you might have to install powerful applications; therefore deciding on these features should take time to consider.

However, we believe that 8GB is excellent for a student and 4GB is the minimum that your laptop should have. Supplementary storage with a 256GB SD card would work perfectly well for a student. Moreover, core i5 or anything above that will meet the need for multitasking in engineering schools.

Portability Factor

There is no doubt that you will need to carry your laptop with yourself from your room to the classroom and vice-versa. Therefore, always go for a device that is thin, and at the same time, it should be light enough so that it could reduce the burden on your shoulders.

Battery Power

Your laptop should have the capacity to at least remain for a whole day on single charging so that you could take the classes without worrying about battery life. Powerful laptops can live up to 10-12 hours of battery life; on the other hand, budget laptops have 5-7 hours of battery life. So it basically depends on your financial capabilities.

Display

We believe that to do multitasking, you need laptops with a widescreen. As per our recommendations, the screen should have a range from 13 inches to 17 inches. The size should be good enough for you to open multiple tabs at a single time. Plus, the big screen allows you a great gaming experience and better viewing angles.
